Sandwich Cod.

I am currently very very very excited indeed. I have most likely waffled on about this already to whoever is reading, but in case for some odd and bizarre reason you didn't know, James is coming down to see me tomorrow!

So earlier I cooked something I like to call "sandwich cod." When Alan left for uni he elected me as the new person of creative food choices, this would be my latest pitch for just that.
I had some breaded cod in the freezer left over, so decided to cook this.
I then decided it would be good between two slices of bread.
I name this "sandwich cod" as it was exactly the right size and thickness to place between the bread. But this wasn't just any old bread. This was the crusts, adding a whole new dimension to the dish. I then cut in quarters and placed some mayonnaise and ketchup on the side of the plate, dipping the sandwich-ettes in them alternately.
It was a satisfying meal.

So here is something irritating me currently.
The "Recommended for you" on Youtube.
They couldn't recommend anything worse.
Everyone knows I have a huge phobia of masks, and horror films. My biggest nightmares are about the Saw films, unfortunately for me Youtube considers clips from Saw to be the perfect choice for my viewing pleasure. Which means I get pictures of Jigsaw on my Youtube homepage everytime I go on. It doesn't end there. Remember when that film came on in the cinema called "The Strangers", you know the one, they had sacks over their heads. Yeah I remember that one, it gave me nightmares. It's also recommended for me. Now, I assume they get their choices from things you have viewed before and similar videos to that, but I haven't watched anything remotely scary on Youtube before, and do not intend to. Ridiculous.

Anyway, nothing can shift my good mood at the moment as it's not long now before I see James, for the first time in what seems like aggeeesss!
So excited I may burst.

My love for charity shops..

..grows more and more each day.

For the past, well few years, I have wanted a blazer. Actually 3. A grey one, a brown one and a black one. Of course blazers are not cheap. And just recently they came back in fashion meaning the prices went up even higher. I was EVEN reluctant to spend out for one from Primark.

Luckily, someone invented charity shops.

I have managed to purchase 3 blazers of different colours, for £10. Which is less than the price of 1! With the added bonus of getting one in each colour I wanted, saving many many squids. (Or pounds as some people refer to them.)

The grey one is Dorothy Perkins, the brown is Bay and the Black has no labels and I think it may be hand made. Pretty ace!

Updates.

I'm ashamed to admit it, but I've wrapped my families Christmas presents. Observe.

Loving the colour scheme!
The picture is upside down on purpose.

A while ago I made a map so we could 'flag-in' where we all lived, it's been pretty popular and since this was taken many more have been added. It's not very geographically correct, but we didn't want Athens feeling left out, so Mexico is right next to Scotland.

Just came back from a Film Collective meeting, and then watched Scientology video's with the rest of "the crew" as it were. Earlier in the day me and Jonathan went to see about starting a society but the person we needed to speak to wasn't in, so we will try again tomorrow.
Oh and things are looking good on the newspaper front as they have emailed me back saying they'd love to have me involved! Ace stuff!

Here is a part of my art film, it is 3 projections overlayed plus a separate audio track (which isn't in the below video for quality reasons) but basically it is chronicling my journey back home. One video is of pictures I took every 2 seconds behind my back for the 20 minute walk to the station, so these were all chance images. Another involves writing letters, postal journeys and the interpretation of words. The third is video footage of on the train, walking, and waiting at the platforms. The audio track which is not featured is of people's conversations which become muffled into one sound which creates patterns with words in rhythms, also telephones ringing, coughing, train announcements and throughout footsteps.
All these together form separate narratives but interlink in ways that make them one.
Each video is not synced and each time they are played it will be completely random, so it will never look the same twice, all part of the chance element in my work.

What a day,

So much has got in the way of me doing my film.

I am just going to paste what I said to James on msn, because it's way too tiring to even type it.
2 weeks ago I went on my mission to get 3 projectors and 3 dvd players
I had problems with burning the disks
Yesterday I finally got the disks done after a wild goose chase, and finding a mysetrious "Adam" in product design and sitting in their class staring at a computer screen for 3+ hours
I then managed to book out a room
Went to the stores (where you hire equipment) only to be told I then I couldnt have the equipment
So my room booking was void
Got the projectors and dvd players today instead
But no permission for rooms and the one I wanted yesterday was taken
After lugging around this equipment I then realised I couldnt work it
After finding someone that could (lots of stairs later) they told me I didnt have the right leads
So then had to go all the way back to the stores with them to get the leads
Blagging my way out of being fined
Then I still had no room to go in
I had to rush back and forth to the stores 2 more times in the space of 10 minutes before my tutor was gone for the day
(who is hard to find each single time I have to find him)
I arrived back with seconds to spare
He had to call around to find me a room and eventually I get one
I still dont know how to use the projectors
The room I get does not have double plug sockets
And the only double plug you cant get to because they built a pipe over it
So I need to go to the stores to get extension leads which requires permissions and people to sign ...and because im Fine Art they dont like me, and interrogate me on their uses
I then have no idea how to work the projectors, and only an hours slot in the room, including time in which I have to pack up
Basically it was. a nightmare
I got it working, but then I have to find this woman I dont know to give her this key
And I have all the equipment to lug back to stores up and down all these stairs
Now this is two huge metal cases and 2 big shoulder bags.. and you know how small I am.
..along with all my art stuff
dear me, what a hassell
I'm never involving technology again.
phew.

Except as James says, I will. On the plus side the film looked so good.
There was sound but I muted it for the below video. Not that the sound quality is that good anyway, so apologies. If you can't hear what I'm saying. It's basically the above rant.

I'll post a little later what it is all about. But there were 3 videos, and an audio which was seperate all interlinked. Also the way they are compiled is chance, so it's never the same if you watch it several times, which is quite nice. I'm doing about journeys, narrative, chance etc so this all fits in nicely. But yeah I'll waffle what it's about later, and it's called "All I have is my Perception of the World."

Productive?

Ok, so today has been a lazy-trying-to-get-better sort of day, so I have been making things in an attempt to keep my mind busy and cheer myself up from being ill.

Firstly I made Christmas cards. They have baubles with moustashes on and read
"All the moustaches in the Eeliverse wish you "a Merry Moustache-mas and a Hairy New Year"
p.s. the moustaches are felt.

I then went on my Broast adventure, which was pretty unsuccessful, vlog seen in previous post.
But then I knew what time it was, it was time to make a What's Up Peaches tshirt.
Phrase previously featured in Utensil Pals.
Tshirt previously seen on Ricky Moysey.
Ricky made a permenant marker style tshirt with this phrase on a while back and I was instantly jealous. Ever since I saw it I wanted one. And today was the day the oppertunity arised to make one.
However, after some discussion of the location of the apostrophe in "Whats", Ricky joked how you could have a posh can opener (yes the tshirt features a can opener) who could say "What is up Peaches?" Incidentally this can opener would have a monocle, top hat and moustache.
Now we all know I like moustaches. So I thought it was only right I made the posh version.

Ta da. It is currently on my radiator. I would wear it tomorrow, but I am planning on a similar day to today, where I stay in pyjamas for it's entirety.
