John.

Latest felt project was John (named by James, who was the recipient of this one.)

Did a few sketches, not much. Don't normally do any, but as this one was more 3D, decided to make some rough guides.

Cut out the felt pieces needed freehand, I never really bother with templates.

Got some of my threads out as I wanted perfect colour matches.

Started with the shell! I stuffed everything tightly with stuffing. My tip of stuffing is to use scissors to pack it in tightly for a firm finish.

Here it is, with a different colour base as if it were the snails body.

Decided to use yellow as the "under colour" to make a bit of a ace-er look for John, as seen on the shell also.

These bits now stitched together, he is taking shape!

Moustache! No great snail is complete without a spiffing moustache.

The tail was the smallest bit to sew, and therefore the most annoying.

All sewn together!

I also stitched throgh the centre of the shell to give it a bit of a more "shell look" rather than just flat.

Added antenna and feelers to complete his rather grand look.

Folded him inside a KFC paper plate which I wrote a letter on the inside of. Stapled for extra security! When I seal things up James is reluctant to open them, and when he does, proceeds very carefully to ensure no damage is done!
When released into his new home, James named him John and I sewed his name on the shell!
Needless to say, John was a hit with everyone.

Gosh I am so addicted to "One Tree Hill" right now. Noooo Lucas, Peyton, Lindsay love triangle! I'm rooting for Peyton.

...snails?

Mixtapes Ahoy!

Huge congratulations are in order for the lovely James who passed his driving test today. This means the following things:

1. We can listen to the mixtapes we have been making!
2. We can annoy other road users with our music and cheesy singalongs!
3. We can have mini camping holiday type things!
4. We can make the sun screen for Margret (his car) which looks like she is wearing wayfarers!
5. And more!

I'm so excited about this and I cannot wait to see James next for many hugs!

In other (not as exciting) news, here is what I wore the other day and why.
I decided to do a world first in wearing a tie. It is actually James' tie. We talked a while ago about girls wearing ties and I insisted I couldn't get away with it without looking like a man/butch woman. However I felt like breaking boundaries that day and went for it, going for a bit of a "man/circus" look - as I described it to James. I wore my skirt I got from River Island for Room Upstairs, (hadn't worn it since January) and waistcoat from Clothes Show along with, of course, a bow! Well I felt cool.

Took a picture of my eye aswel to see what colour they were. Now I've typed that it seems a really odd thing to say/do.

No fez, so fair enough.

Ok, I haven't blogged daily happens for quite a while. Too long. So here are a few extracts from the past few days.

1. Theory Test
I took my driving theory test and failed by one mark! James was there for hugs afterwards and we did a little bit of shopping before I had to go for a driving lesson. I bought a few bits and pieces including a black dress from Primark reduced to £5. Well, you can't go wrong with £5, and even though I would have prefered the white one, I didn't want the problem of not being able to wear underwear underneath as it would show through.
2. I found a new belt.
Well, an old belt I bought from Oasis a long long time ago. I found it whilst having a tidy up and it fits in with my latest bow obsession.
3. I drew the octopus featured in the "nice things" James says. He is holding a different coloured marker in each hand and spinning round with paper over the walls. Ace!
4. Tom Wood had another hot tub party last night, which was pretty good! I failed at that Rockband game, but embraced the oppertunity to get my new bikini out (these oppertunities do not arise enough for my liking.) There was an amusing moment where Jimmy fooled Graham into thinking he was adopted, and Ricky was there which was ace as I hadn't seen him for what seemed like ages!
I wore my new playsuit I got in the sale at Bay. I wanted it at full price, but glad I waited a few weeks to get it! James isn't a fan of the whole dress/shorts idea, so I won't make a habit of wearing it around him. Still, thats fair enough, I don' let him wear the Fez.
5. Paintballing. We went today but it pretty much sucked for me as I was ill. The manager of the place said I still had to pay full price even though I didn't even use any of the paintballs. Everyone was really kind and bought them off me, but I still had to pay £13. Not too bad really, but the manager was really rude and made me upset, which shouldn't have happened. Alan didn't make it, but had left his deposit so I claimed that as my own which was useful. Me and James went back to his afterwards, and he convinced me I shouldn't give up driving, and as an incentive, he said he would make me a little gift for everytime I have a lesson/test, yeeey, lovely!
6. Ricky and the Pigeons reached ever closer to becoming an actual band when I presented Ricky and Graham with T-shirts I made for them with the band logo on. (The same design as the poster I made Ricky.) Originally I made one for Graham's birthday (Tuesday) aswel as a female felt pigeon for Phillip Phlap, as seen in previous post, but didn't want Ricky to feel left out!

New Youtube Abuse.

Well at least people are watching my videos. I have so far received abuse such as "GINGER" yay "PASTY" woo and "UGLY" double yeey! This is why I disabled comments.

Longest project ever.

Besides the Jeffster 3000 ( oh and James birthday and christmas presents.)

Yesterday I managed to give James a gift I started over a week ago, which I had been itching to finish! Here is it packaged up, ribbon of course compulsary.

In the package was a little book and a tape I decorated with ace stickers!
Inside the book were little pictures of things to do with us and quotes from songs that remind me of James. The tape featured the songs they came from, it was all fun to make, just had lots of issues along the way which made it more difficult.

Problems I faced:
1. Had to burn disk of songs for tape
2. Computer didnt want to do this
3. Had to find songs painstakingly difficultly as I cant download them
4. Then had to record onto mixtape via my mums CD player
5. Had to get letters in proportion on pages and therefore create it all on computer first, must have used the print screen button at least 100 times
6. Had to trace everything, on a skylight window
7. Drew several little images only to be able to use 2
8. Sewed up edges of book while it was wet, so it tore a lot
9. Tied the ribbon up in a way that is impossible to recreate
and so on, there were more problems along the way, but thankfully it got finished and James liked it!

The weekend was nice. I had Sunday off work so James came round mine early and we later wandered down to the beach. I now have a bikini tan line, hardly a tan as I still look like a ghost, but noticeablely different. James has now commendeered one of my hair clip bows, suits him, strangley. We later walked back to his, after James carrying me into the shower at the beach getting me soaked as I screamed "not the hairrrr!" at him. When we got home we made heart shaped biscuits and wrote little cheesy romantic messages to eachother in the flour.
This morning James decided to engage in a tickle fight. Which was blatently one sided as I was helpless to it as he laughed at my misfortune! After this he decided to spin me round on the chair in his kitchen, I fell off and couldn't walk straight for a while, still, all good fun.

Phillip Phlap

Pretty cool, huh!? Well Graham thought so when I presented him with this ace felt pigeon at band practice on Friday. When we walked back to James' earlier the discussion came about to name him and after skimming past cliche names such as "Percy" we ended up with Phillip. James then made a comment about his last name being "Phlap" for comic effect and that sealed the deal. From that moment on he was Phillip Phlap, and therefore the coolest pigeon ever.
Mini aviators in production.
Band practice was nice and although I had to go to work the morning after it was lovely to go and then stay round James'. Managed to end up cooking pasta for him, Graham and Duffield that evening, for some reason everytime I'm in his kitchen I end up cooking food for him.. Tis a shame Ricky wasnt there for hopefully he will be at the next one. Oh and I can't wait for paintballing!
