I thought it was about time I posted what I got for Christmas.
I am currently sitting at the computer doing something I haven't done in a fair while, listened to music! I am putting some of my favourite tracks and having a bit of a sing a long, which has really raised my mood. I was in a bit of a procrastinating zone earlier trying to warm up on the couch, filled with iPad based distractions, but now I am feeling quite jolly and ready to start being productive. There were a couple of blogs I have needed to catch up on, followed by some dissertation editing, so that is todays plan!
Firstly I got something which was on my original list I blogged here, which was a magic tree! I was (maybe too) pleased with this and as you can see below, it bloomed very nicely indeed.
From my overseas friends I got some lovely things, and in one package from Robyn I got these super cute erasers in the shape of a biscuit and strawberry! (Apologies for the quality of these photographs by the way, I wasn't able to use Pedro, my DSLR.)
James managed to keep his present a complete secret to me, which was pretty incredible due to the amount of questions I ask about these kind of things before Christmas. He got me this lovely suitcase, after his original plan of getting me a Cambridge Satchel (in yellow!) was scuppered by lack of retailers.
I only had a couple of presents to unwrap from my parents as we are not big Christmas celebrators. Now me and my brother have been living away from home for 3-6 years collectively it is just about being home together and playing family games. One of the things I did get from them however were these lovely suede shoes, which I actually picked out quite a few months before but couldn't afford so they were put away for Christmas.
I am always in need of tights but sometimes they can be fairly pricey, so I was pleased to get some over the holidays, I also managed to pick up some Primark sale tights the other day. It really annoys me in shops (I have found in New Look and H&M especially) they take the tights out the packet and just tie them up for the sale. I dislike this as they are rarely priced, you don't know what the size is and they are prone to being ripped/laddered through displaying this way.
Christmas isn't Christmas without a stocking in my book. But shockingly my mum told me this year she wasn't doing them, I made her rectify this and I did indeed get a stocking which included these lovely bow stickers, and of course, an orange.
From James' younger brother I got an Octonauts annual and moustache cookie cutters, both awesome presents. I haven't watched the Octonauts in a while which is a bit of a shame, but they are the background on my iPad!
From James' parents I got lots of lovely things and was especially pleased to receive some metal piping nozzles and sewing machine thread. James complained to me recently that I don't bake nearly enough for the amount of specialist equipment I have, but I hope to rectify this. The sewing machine thread will be incredibly useful, there are about 40 different colours and I had very nearly run out of supplies so this is excellent! They also look very cool arranged in colour order, which was one of the first things I felt compelled to do after I unwrapped them.
I also got these Penguin book postcards, there are 100 and each of them is different. It was quite exciting to found that some of them I actually have the original books for which is pretty cool. Although being all different, it means I don't actually want to use any of them!
Lastly I got this wonderful journal and stickers (post it notes too, but not pictured) from Izzy and Tom, which are just up my street, and weirdly me and James got a very similar present for Izzy herself.
Couple more blogs for today still to come! Hope you all got some wonderful Christmas gifts!
