So as not to clog you up with too many pictures at once, I split my birthday blog into 2..so without further ado!
In the evening I changed into a little floaty number from House of Fraser. It is one of those dresses which is higher at the front and longer at the back. I didn't think I would be able to pull it off but I actually really love this style at the moment, and it was perfect for a summery evening with wine and dinner in the garden. My mum kindly took some pictures for me, which meant I could avoid the usual and awkward self timer shots! I teamed the dress with a plaited belt and I was good to go!
I only had a little cake, and being the baker amongst my friends I always make theirs but never get one in return!#bakingproblems . It was a little lemon cake, with two lonely candles on top! It was pretty delicious though!
Now...on to the presents!
Louise and Kiwi got me a wonderful gift of a picnic basket, a very apt present not only because my birthday was a picnic-y event but because they are one of my most favourite things! I cannot wait to use it! Louise even put a red ribbon tied in a bow on the handles!
Another person who knows me too well is of course my best friend Sam, who bought me recipe books from my favourite chefs, especially Gregg Wallace - whose face I look at when feeling down as it gives me an instant boost of happiness! Not only is it Gregg (and Ainsley) but the books feature my favourite thing..DESSERT! As a keen baker this was a brilliant gift, and also very thoughtful - I don't think anyone else would know who my favourite chefs were! I also received a hilarious pun-tastic card and even better I am expecting another gift when I next see him! I wish Sam could have spent the day with us yesterday, but he is uncool like that. To make it up he facetime-d me in the evening and I even got an impromptu ukulele performance!

Overall my birthday was brilliant. I got a small selection of wonderful gifts (and a not so wonderful Snuggie, which my mum got me as a joke, but I will probably sadly end up using) and had the most brilliant day! Thank you everyone!
haha snuggies are one of those things you think are silly, then get one and realise they are actually pretty good! Those dresses are so lovely, i kinda want one, just dont have an occasion :)
